What do you think about Ranking vs Scoring?

The tricot approach is simple to implement and relatively easy to understand because participants rank three varieties. This means that they indicate that the options are either first, middle and last. For example, depending on the trait: best/middle/worst, tallest/middle/shortest, most/middle/least.

But what about scoring the options (for example, giving a score between 1 and 5)?

Is scoring successfully used in other approaches?

Could scoring be more beneficial than ranking in some instances?

Could scoring be combined with ranking?

Can ClimMob accommodate scoring as well?

Yes, I agree

Scoring should be incorporated. Most especially when comparing with local checks. Farmers might not outrightly prefer each varieties over their local checks. Scoring will help to picture their preference appropriately and will facilitate some economic study as well. For instance, a farmers preference score over local checks could reflect perceived usefulness and ease of use.

So, I agree that scoring should be incorporated in tricot trials.
